​We are looking for in-service teachers, guidance counsellors, and school board leaders serving grades 7-12 in Newfoundland and Labrador to contribute information that will enable us to map the network of community organizations and educators involved in sharing knowledge and resources related to GBV prevention and healthy relationships. Through this process, we aim to strengthen our existing relationships and resource-sharing networks to:
  • Encourage decision-makers to take action against GBV through education.
  • Provide training and support for teachers to improve their skills.
  • Make sure that 2SLGBTQIA+ youth have the information they need to prevent GBV.
Participation is completely voluntary, and participants will be entered to win one of two $25 gift cards.

Join a focus group or a one-on-one interview!


Share your thoughts on how to improve gender-based violence education in schools!

We are looking for in-service teachers and guidance counselors teaching grades 7-12 and school board leaders in Newfoundland and Labrador to participate in either a virtual or in-person focus group, or a virtual or in-person one-on-one interview for a project called Empowering Educators and Peers to Reduce GBV (gender-based violence) Experienced by 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth in NL. 

This project aims to understand how gender-based violence (GBV) education can be improved for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Newfoundland and Labrador. We are asking focus group participants to share their views about the barriers and facilitators of implementing GBV education and prevention efforts in schools.
Participation is completely voluntary, and participants will be entered to win one of five $100 Gift of Choice gift cards.
We especially welcome individuals who:
  • have participated and/or engaged with students in Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs)
  • are new to their position
  • have been in their position for a long time
  • live in rural or remote areas​
