Raise awareness and funds to support cervical screenings!Newfoundland and Labrador has one of the highest rates of cervical cancer in the country. Pap tests are a quick and painless way to detect abnormalities with the cells of the cervix before they become cancerous.
Yet many people still don’t go for regular pap tests, because they are uncertain about how the procedure works, embarrassed by stigma, or just do not understand the importance of it. Pap tests reduce your chances of ever having to deal with cancer of the cervix.
All you’ve got to do is make a decision: will your community support you to stop shaving (any body hair you like!) for the month of February? Or would they be more inclined to sponsor a loss of hair at the end of the month? Grow it or lose it: it’s up to you.
Collect pledges for your hair growth (or impending hair loss!) via our website. Join as an individual, or a team! Your support for Feb-U-Hairy helps us continue to offer Pap Clinics, along with our other regular clinics.
