Will my call be recorded?
The audio of phone calls made through the Warm Line is not recorded, however text/chat logs are saved for quality assurance purposes. Some general data about the call will be recorded, but it will be anonymous and untraceable.
Will you call the police/emergency services on me?
What if I am not 2SLGBTQIA+, but I have a 2SLGBTQIA+ loved one (or client, coworker, etc)?
You are still welcome to call and get support for yourself surrounding issues about your 2SLGBTQIA+ loved one from our 2SLGBTQIA+ volunteers. However, be aware that we may cut the call short to make space for 2SLGBTQIA+ callers.
How do I volunteer?
To volunteer on the warm line, you must live in Newfoundland and Labrador, identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, and be 18 or older. You will also need to have a phone and internet connection, and a quiet private place to take calls. Training will be conducted biannually and a link to the application form will be added here.
