- Take the pressure off of existing crisis or warmlines that 2SLGBTQIA+ people may be using in the absence of specific warm line.

History and Funding
Launched in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic and heightened social isolation with emergency funding from the United Way NL, the Warm Line endeavoured to create a sense of connection, community, and hope for its callers.
After a short closure due to a lack of available funding in 2023, the Government of NL’s Office of Women and Gender Equality (WGE) heard from us, the public, and other community organizations about how important the 2SLGBTQIA+ Warm Line is to NL and how it contributes to ending Gender Based Violence (GBV). In response the Office of WGE NL included funding for PPNLSHC’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Warm Line in their request to the Federal Government’s National Action Plan to End GBV (NAP-GBV).

We are incredibly grateful for the support from the Government of NL and the Office of WGE as well as individual sponsors and donors.
We continue to accept donations and sponsorships and seek grants for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Warm Line operations. Additional funding will be used to support volunteers, promote the warm line, and hopefully, one day, be able to pay our peer supporters for their time and efforts. Donate here or contact [email protected] to discuss sponsorship or grant opportunities.
